Leafleting
  1. We suggest washing your hands with soap ( soap + water) in order to kill the viral particles. This must be done for 20 seconds and scrub all surfaces of the hands including the back of the hand, in between the fingers, around and under the nails, the palms and wrist. Please the see video below: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/health-51736288/how-to-wash-your-hands-30-second-guide
  2. This handwashing should be done before handling the leaflets. One can wear disposable gloves as an extra protection whilst handling and delivering the leaflets. We know the virus can live on surfaces for a decent length of time (different sources quote different possible time lengths) and as other people touch letterboxes it would be good to wear the gloves
  3. Avoid touching your face whilst handling and distributing the leaflets
  4. You must stay away and self isolate if you have a fever or cough or other viral symptoms for 7 days. And isolate for 14 days if anyone in your family has these symptoms even if you are well. You must not distribute the leaflets or help out as you could be doing more harm to the community than good
  5. After distributing the leaflets one should dispose of their gloves and also try to wash their hands if possible or use hand sanitizer if you have it in your car or on your person.

Payment
  1. We will try to get payment for shopping done online so you only have to pick up the shopping. This is actually currently difficult due to the demand on this service.
  2. If we can’t do online payment then volunteer will have to pay for the shopping. Make sure you take picture of receipt and place the paper receipt in bag.
  3. The requester will then pay us online via transfer and we will then reimburse the volunteer .

This is to avoid any cash handling and close contact

If they can’t pay via online click & collect, or by bank transfer then procedure is as follows:

  1. Once we receive receipt we will send it to the requester.
  2. Ask them to place money in envelope or something.
  3. You drop off Shopping outside front door and step back more then 2 metres.
  4. Phone then to collect shopping
  5. They will check shopping and place the money in front of door.
  6. You collect money and leave
